Not-Just-For-Advent Calendar review: countdown sale calendar with daily doors

A normal sale gets one burst of attention and then goes quiet. A countdown calendar gives people a reason to come back every single day, because there is a new door, and a new deal, behind each date.

The Not-Just-For-Advent Calendar by NimbleAF Apps brings that advent-calendar idea to any WordPress site, for any holiday. I have used it, and this Not-Just-For-Advent Calendar review covers how it works, what it is good for, and who should buy it.

Short version: it is simple, convenient and fun. You fill in a form for each door, click publish, and the calendar runs itself. If you sell anything online from a WordPress site, it is an easy way to turn a plain sale into an event.

Quick verdict: 4.6 / 5. Set up in an afternoon, no code, works with the checkout you already use, and reusable for every holiday of the year. You need a WordPress site and something to sell.

My Experience Using It

What I liked most was how little thinking it needed. Install the plugin, choose how many doors and when they open, then fill in each door like a simple form: picture, title, price, buy link. Click publish and that is it.

After that it really is hands-off. The doors open on their own each morning, so there is no logging in early to switch a deal on. It fits my rule for tools I recommend here: simple, convenient, and something you will actually finish setting up.

What Is the Not-Just-For-Advent Calendar?

Remember advent calendars, with one little door a day and a treat behind each one? This plugin does that for your business. Each door holds a deal, and it stays locked until its day comes, so tomorrow's offer stays a secret.

Despite the name, it is not a Christmas-only tool. Swap the dates, the door graphics and the deals, and the same calendar runs a Valentine's countdown, a Black Friday week, a launch-week bonus reveal, or your business birthday.

How It Works

  1. Step 1: Pick your days

Choose how many doors (up to 12), the start date, and what time the doors open each morning.

  2. Step 2: Fill in your deals

For each door, add a picture, a title, a price and your buy link.

  3. Step 3: Click publish

The doors open by themselves, day after day, while you get on with everything else.

What shoppers see when a door opens.

You also choose the mood of the sale. In stay open mode, every opened door remains available so late visitors can grab earlier deals. In 24 hours only mode, each deal disappears when the next door opens, which builds real daily urgency. You can set it for the whole sale or door by door.

A Year of Sale Ideas

The plugin comes with a sale plan for every month. A few of my favourites:

  1. 12 Days of Self-Love. Small treats leading up to Valentine's Day.
  2. Christmas in July. Holiday fun in the middle of the summer slump.
  3. Spooky Week. Seven days of treats counting down to Halloween.
  4. Black Friday Week. Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, one big deal a day.
  5. Launch Week Bonuses. Reveal a fresh bonus every day until the cart closes.
  6. Free Gift Days. Freebie doors link to your sign-up page to grow your email list.

If you are still deciding what to sell, my list of 50 future-proof online business ideas for 2026 is a good place to start.

Key Features

  • Automatic doors. No alarms at 6 a.m. Each door opens on schedule.
  • Local time zones. Every shopper sees the countdown in their own time.
  • A thank-you page per day. Made for you. Just add the download link.
  • Bonus banner. Promote a bundle, membership or "everything" deal across the whole sale.
  • No sneak peeks. Tomorrow's deal stays hidden until its door opens.
  • Your branding. Upload your own door graphics or use the built-in numbered doors, and pick an accent colour.
  • Preview any day. Check exactly what shoppers will see before it goes live.
  • Mobile-friendly. Looks good on phones, where most shoppers are.

What I Liked

  • Simple and convenient. If you can fill in a form, you can run it. No code, no fiddly settings.
  • Daily reasons to come back. A calendar turns one email into twelve, and one visit into a habit.
  • Works with what you have. It just links to your existing checkout, so there is nothing new to connect.
  • Use it all year. Run as many sales as you like on your own sites. Change the dates and go again.
  • Great for list building. Freebie doors that link to a sign-up page grow your email list while the sale runs.

What to Know Before You Buy

  • WordPress only. You need a self-hosted WordPress site running version 6.0 or newer.
  • Up to 12 doors. Perfect for most promotions. For a 25-day advent sale, run two calendars back to back.
  • Bring your own offers. The plugin makes a sale engaging; you still need products or deals worth opening a door for.
  • Graphics are up to you. The numbered doors work out of the box, but seasonal artwork looks best. Any image tool can make a set in minutes.

Editions and Pricing

There are two one-time editions:

  • Standard. The plugin, the 21-page guide, sale ideas and example schedules, the printable launch checklist, and unlimited sales on sites you own.
  • PLR / Whitelabel. Everything in Standard, plus rights to rebrand, edit and resell the plugin at any price, or give it away to build your list.

Both are a one-time payment with an instant download. The prices are shown on the buy buttons of the sales page, so check there for today's numbers.

Who Is It For?

  • Digital product sellers with a catalogue of ebooks, printables, courses or templates.
  • Authors and KDP publishers who sell direct, for example running a 7-day launch with a bonus each day. If you publish on KDP too, my Amazon KDP strategy for 2026 covers the bigger plan.
  • Affiliate marketers who want a gift-guide calendar with one recommended product behind each door.
  • Coaches and course creators running a 5-day challenge with a free lesson per day.

Skip it if you do not use WordPress, or you do not have anything to sell or give away yet.

FAQ

Is it only for Christmas?

No. You change the dates, graphics and deals, and run it for any holiday, season or event, from a Valentine's sale to a launch-week bonus countdown.

Do I need technical skills?

No. If you can install a WordPress plugin and fill in a form, you can set it up. The 21-page guide shows every step with screenshots.

Which checkouts does it work with?

Each door's button links to your own buy link, so it works with PayPal, Stripe, ThriveCart, WarriorPlus, JVZoo, Gumroad and others.

How many days can a sale run?

Anywhere from 1 to 12 doors. Five suits Black Friday week, and three makes a good weekend flash sale.

How do buyers get their products?

Each day gets its own thank-you page made for you. Add your download link and point your checkout there.

Is there a resell option?

Yes. A second edition adds PLR and whitelabel rights, so you can rebrand, edit and resell the plugin or give it away to build your list.

Not-Just-For-Advent Calendar Review: Final Verdict

The Not-Just-For-Advent Calendar does one thing and makes it easy: it turns a plain sale into a daily event people want to check. Set-up is a form, the doors run themselves, and you can reuse it for every holiday of the year.

If you sell from a WordPress site, it is a simple, low-cost way to get more out of the sales you already run. With the holiday season coming up, now is the right time to set up your first calendar.

My rating: 4.6 / 5. Simple, convenient and reusable all year. It only loses points for being WordPress-only and capped at 12 doors.
